The University of Illinois Wheelchair Athletics program has committed itself to the development of well-rounded wheelchair sport camps. Young athletes have the opportunity to learn more about their sport, improve their skills, create new friendships and have fun at the same time. Campers receive excellent coaching, experience campus life, and meet athletes from a variety of backgrounds. We are confident that they will benefit from the experience. Illinois Wheelchair Basketball: Individual Skills Day Camp
- When: June 26th-27th
- Cost: $300
- Check-in: June 26th from 7:30-8:30am (before first session of the day)
- Check-out: Last session will end around 9pm on June 27th
- Ages: 12-19 years old
This is our original and flagship camp. It is a great camp for beginners and/or athletes who want to fine tune their foundational wheelchair basketball skills. Instruction at this camp will be provided by the U of I coaching staff and student-athletes. This will provide the best hands-on experience for your developing athletes. Athletes attending are expected to be physically and mentally prepared for the 8 hours a day training that this type of camp presents. Campers are also expected to be independent with all activities of daily living and mobility. It is recommended that campers use a manual day chair to move between the gym and the dining hall. For our individual camp this year, there will be no dorms provided. We have hotel blocks that you may reserve for camp.

Transportation to the gym from the hotel in the morning and from the gym to the hotel will not be provided by the program. It will be your responsibility to get your camper(s) to the gym and back to the hotel for the two days.
Illinois Track Camp (Registration is now full for Track Camp 2026)

- Cost: $350
- Check-in: June 28th, 1-4pm
- Check-out: July 1st, 8am
Wheelchair Track Camp is a great camp for beginners and/or athletes who want to fine tune their foundational track skills. Instruction at this camp will be provided by the U of I coaching staff and student-athletes. This will provide the best hands-on experience for your developing athletes. Athletes attending are expected to be physically and mentally prepared for the 8 hours a day training that this type of camp presents. Each athlete is expected to provide their own track chair for the duration of camp.
Illinois Wheelchair Basketball: Illini Premier Camp (Registration is now full for Premier Camp)

- Check-out: July 2nd, 8am
- Ages: High School sophomore to age 23
Once called “Elite Camp”, Illinois Wheelchair Basketball is excited to present a unique training environment for those athletes who have collegiate and national team aspirations. This will be a small group, high-intensity training program that will go deeper into game strategy and technique, push athlete’s physical and mental toughness and provide them with an uncommon competitive environment to take their game to the next level. Are you Ready? (Must be at least a Sophomore in high school to age 23 and previously attended our individual skills camp)

Illini Premier Camp Coaches Clinic
- When: June 28th-July 2nd
- Cost: $400
- Check-in: June 28th, 1-4pm
- Check-out: July 2nd, 8am
In conjunction with Premier Camp, our Coaches Clinic will teach the skills and concepts of wheelchair basketball. You’ll benefit from daily interactions with the camp coaches and other like-minded coaches through in-session huddles, post-session debriefs, and meals together.

Housing Information:
Will there by housing provided for camp?
Yes, for track camp and premier camp housing is provided. For our individual day camp ONLY, we have secured blocks at 3 different hotels that you can reserve:

Do I need to provide a roommate preference in advance?
It is not necessary to contact the camps office in advance with a roommate preference. All roommate preferences are handled by the housing staff and honored at check-in.

Can a camper stay at a hotel with their parent or guardian?
Yes, we now have an option for that on our registration. If your plan is to have your camper stay at a hotel with their parent or guardian for premier or track camp, please reach out to us so we can provide you accurate information and pricing. They will be provided meal cards for lunch and dinner, but not breakfast.
What does the daily schedule look like for the campers?
Please refer to our Letter to Campers for times for each session and other good information to know before you come to camp.

- Once you have completed your registration, you must complete this Summer Camp Medical Form and send it to us with hand-written signatures by mail or scanned and sent via email to tyree1@illinois.edu.
